鍋ヶ滝 Nabegataki The Nabegataki Waterfall

Jp En

The Nabegataki Waterfall in Oguni-machi, Kumamoto Pref. is 9 meters in height and 20 meters in width. In the dark forest of cedar trees, the waterfall looks like a hank of silk thread shining in the sunlight that comes through the branches of the trees. The flow of water looks like a curtain, and this waterfall is said to be the most beautiful and the most graceful of all the waterfalls in Oguni-machi. The space behind the waterfall takes the shape of a hollowed cave, so you can walk behind the waterfall. The splash of water will make you feel really cool. The best season is the fall, when the surrounding mountains are covered with autumn leaves. From the morning through the early afternoon, a rainbow may be seen over the waterfall.
