北海道 神仙沼 Hokkaido Jinsennuma Shinsen-numa Pond in Hokkaido
|
Shinsen-numa Pond is said to be the most beautiful among many ponds and lakes in the Niseko area. Surrounded with the virgin forest of Siberian Dwarf Pine, Japanese red pine and Jezo spruce, the pond lies in perfect tranquility. The surrounding trees and their own reflected images on the clear water surface look as if they were vieing for dominance in beauty with each other.
With Naga-numa Pond and O-numa Pond in the vicinity, the area is a popular place for hiking. During the alpine plant blooming season from June through July, a lot of hikers come to enjoy seeing rare flowers as well as lovely landscapes.
200 m ahead of the rest house on the promenade is the observatory, which commands a panoramic view of the rural landscape of Kyowa Town, Shakotan Peninsula and the Sea of Japan. The view on a fine day is especially fine.
