滝の拝 Taki-no-hai Takinohai

Jp En

Takinohai is a miniature gorge in the Kogawa River, a branch river of the Koza River in Wakayama Pref. Clear water flows on the uniquely shaped rough rock bed and runs down between strange rocks with numerous holes made by erosion, forming several lines like waterfalls. Though small in scale, the water rushed down with force, creating a very impressive natural art work. The pure flowers of wisteria in spring and lycoric in fall together with pleasant sound of flowing stream make visitors relaxed. In the downstream of the waterfalls, children can play in the water and people can enjoy fishing sweetfish.
